The Soulbinder’s Gambit

A Baldurs gate heist adventure – now available
I’m excited to announce that The Soulbinder’s Gambit, my Baldur’s Gate heist adventure, is now available as Pay What You Want on the DMs Guild!
What Is It?
The Soulbinder’s Gambit is a heist adventure for 3rd-level characters set in Baldur’s Gate. It was originally created for Baldur’s Gate Game Jam last October. The adventure plunges the party into the aftermath of the Elturel crisis, where noble families made desperate deals with devils, and those contracts are now hidden in one of the city’s most secure vaults.
The Setup
When a Guild crew turns up dead after attempting to break into the Hall of Wonders, Lucky Al, a retired halfling master thief haunted by dreams from a trapped soul, recruits the party for one more job. Your mission: infiltrate a high-society poetry reading, break into the legendary Gondian vault under the Hall of Wonders, and recover both infernal contracts and a cursed dagger containing the soul of a Silvershield heir.
Why Would I Want to Run This?
Flexible Heist Structure: The adventure is designed with player agency in mind. Part 2 of the adventure highlights optional investigation encounters (meeting contacts, scouting the Hall, acquiring tools) that make the heist easier but aren’t required. Its designed to reward player inginuity but also gives the Game Master a number of tools for running an open ended heist.
Social Intrigue Meets Dungeon Crawling: Players need to navigate Lady Eomane’s cruel poetry gala before descending into a vault protected by spectators, animated armor, and deadly traps. The adventure has something nifty for role players, explorers, and for rough and tumble players.
Ties to Forgotten Realms Lore: The adventure connects to the Descent into Avernus storyline and can be integrated into the Baldur’s Gate campaign from the Adventures in Faerûn book.
